Payments

Request the first payment the moment the letter is signed.

An attorney approves every request. Your client pays by card or bank transfer on the payments processor's secure page. Intara never holds your clients' money.

01

Request it from the signed letter

You can request payments once an engagement letter is signed. Each request starts from the payment schedule in that letter. Fees and costs can be requested separately.

02

An attorney approves every request

"An attorney approves every request before anything is sent."

The same approval bar that guards the engagement letter guards each payment request, and the approval is recorded.

03

Your client pays on the processor's secure page

The request email shows no amount. It comes from "Intara for" and your firm's name, and links to the processor's secure page, where your client sees the amount and pays by card or bank transfer.

Card and bank details go only to the processor. They never touch Intara. Each firm uses its own processor account.

Reminders can follow up for you

Your firm chooses how reminders work: "Send reminders automatically", "An attorney approves each reminder" or "Send no reminders". Reminders never show an amount either.

The Payments list shows each request and whether it has been paid.

Questions

Questions firms ask.

Who holds the money?

Your firm's own processor account. Intara never holds your clients' money and never moves it.

Does the email show the amount?

No. Payment emails from Intara never show an amount. Your client sees it only on the processor's secure page.

Can the fee come in parts?

Yes, if your engagement letter splits it. A later part is requested when its step is done. In the app's words: "It is never scheduled by date."

What does it cost?

Payment requests are included in the per-firm price. The payments processor charges its own card, bank and account fees.

Is it turned on for every firm?

Payments are turned on per firm, once that firm's own processor account is set up and confirmed.
